Ripples in the Pond
What a transformative experience it was to write a big adventurous book like Falling to Heaven! Once the idea came to me, it led me by the nose. I soon found myself plumbing the mysteries of two mystical traditions, Quakerism and Tibetan Buddhism, looking torture in the face, struggling with the age-old question of whether violent resistance is ever justified, and tasting yak butter tea in a centuries-old monastery in Lhasa, Tibet.
The conviction it left me with is this: Every small thing we do matters. With our growing global awareness, we’re seeing how our small actions can touch one person after another, like ripples in a pond.
On this page, I invite you to share your own experiences of the ripples in the pond, whether you started the ripple or felt it from someone else. I’ll be posting some of your stories. Because of the volume of stories I receive, I cannot post all of them, but I hope that this little corner builds a sense of inspiration and community.
